Butler Recreation offers many programs for toddlers, children, and adults.  These programs are designed to keep residents engaged and involved in our community!  Our programs include Zumba, skiing, boot camp, basketball, cross country, chess club, Kinder gym, table tennis, volleyball, and much more!

Toddler Programs

 

KINDERGYM– starts 9/16/19
Join Miss Karyn for a fun filled 45-minute class combining tumbling and rolling with instructor-led play and circle time. Children and their caregivers will get the sillies out while they dance, sing, romp and roll. Mondays at 10am at the Rec Center Ages 1-4 years old. Eight (8) week session starts Sept 16th

Cost: $50 Butler Residents
$55 Non Residents

Children’s Programs

 

Boys & Girls Cross Country – Butler Rec invites all Butler athletes to join our cross-country team! This program is open to all boys and girls ages 6-14 years old.

Races will be held at Greystone Central Park in Morris Plains on Sundays in September/October. Transportation to/from practices/races must be provided by parents. Practices are held every Tuesday and Thursday at Butler Track and Memorial Field beginning in August, 6:30-7:30 p.m. depending on weather and sundown. Call the Rec Office for more information.

Cost: $50

Registration fees include uniform cost, technical shirts, and running gear.

 

Sports & Fitness Programs

CHESS CLUB- will meet this Sunday 1/6/19
The Borough Chess Club invites players of all levels (never played to experienced) and ages to come and join the fun! The Chess Club meets on the first Sunday of each month from 1-4pm at Rec Center. All are welcome to come and observe or participate in casual play, and rated chess will be available for members of the USCF (United States Chess Federation). The club, in addition to the rated events will be directed by Ed Knesevitch, nationally ranked expert and certified tournament director with the USCF.

ZUMBA- starts 9/17/19

Zumba-Work with Rina to dance yourself into shape! Zumba is a dance workout that uses music and choreographed steps to form a fitness party atmosphere – beginners welcome! Classes will meet on Tuesdays at 6:45PM for a 6 week session, at Aaron Decker School gym starting on September 17, 2019.

Cost: $35 for the 6 week session

 

2019-2020 Ski Program

 

CIRCUIT FIT– Ongoing

 The BEST place to work out ! !

Come Join our fun Adult work out class. This is a circuit style workout good for all fitness levels. We mix up the routines so you never know what you are going to get, but you can be sure you will have a fun and it will always be worth it. You can always try us on for size with a free workout.

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 PM
Where: Memorial Field/Rec Center, RBS (during school year)
What to Bring: a yoga mat, water and a friend (or come alone )
Cost: $35 a month, register through Butler Rec

 

We know you will love this relaxed fun welcoming group of people. You’ll be glad you did.! We have been running continuously since Fall of 2016.

MENS BASKETBALL- BUTLER RESIDENTS
Men’s Basketball-Come play pick-up games with Butler residents on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm- 9:00pm at the Richard Butler Gym.
NO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.
Cost: FREE

 

VOLLEYBALL- ADULTS ONLY
Volleyball-Come play volleyball with Butler residents on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30pm- 9:00pm at the Aaron Decker Gym.
Cost: FREE
